ChooseChicago: This site is run by the city and meant to promote tourism, but it is just as useful for locals as well, with plenty of updates on the latest cultural happenings and special events, particularly those offered by the city of Chicago itself.
MetromixChi: This is the main portal towards all things dining and nightlife in the Second City. Check it out for events, restaurant reviews, and similar content.
Block Club: With a quirky style that's more than a little bit hipster, the Chicago showcases some of the more off the beaten path events, restaurants, and more.
Refinery29 Chicago: Part of the Refinery29 fashion and culture empire, the Chicago-specific section is a must for stylish locals.
Chicago Magazine: The digital version of the long time print publication, this a great source of more in-depth reporting on what's going on Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
Thrillist Chicago: A little more focused on younger crowd, this site often features some of the newest and trendiest entertainment options - and be sure to sign up for their mailing list if you're interested!
Chicago Traveler: Although it is a tourist focused site, all the fun activities listed are great for locals as well.
Reddit Chicago: While this isn't a stand alone site like the others, the Chicago subReddit is a wonderful place to ask questions and discover new things about the city.
